Has someone blocked you on WhatsApp? Here’s a working method that might help you get around it. Follow these 4 simple steps to try unblocking yourself safely.
🔒 Step 1: Write Down Their Number
If the person who blocked you is saved in your contact list, first write down their phone number and then delete it from your phone’s contacts.
💾 Step 2: Back Up Your WhatsApp Chats
Backing up your chats ensures that you don’t lose any messages or media files.
✔️ Open WhatsApp and go to: Menu > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup
✔️ Tap Back up to Google Drive and choose your preferred frequency.
✔️ When prompted, select or add a Google account for storing the backup. Remember this account.
✔️ Choose the backup network. Using cellular data might result in extra charges.
🗑️ Step 3: Delete Your WhatsApp Account
✔️ Navigate to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Delete My Account.
By deleting your WhatsApp account, you make your number inactive. WhatsApp cannot keep someone blocked if they no longer have an account — meaning you’re automatically removed from the block list.
🧹 Step 4: Clear WhatsApp Data
✔️ Go to your phone’s Settings > Apps > WhatsApp.
✔️ Tap on Clear Data to remove all temporary files and residuals.
After performing these steps, reinstall WhatsApp, register your number, and restore your backup. If luck favors, the person might not have blocked you anymore.
